I was able to hike around a bit last week and get some views of the colors and early snow. Fall is in the air! As far as climbing ideas, Alec posted some cool ideas a week back in the summer thread:

This looks like a pretty moderate outing, but I'd like to hit in when there's ice.


In addition, I'd like to hike the "Red/White, Red/White", the Bullion Divide, or possibly the whole Cottonwood Ridge after we get a good sunny spell after Wednesday's storm. Any interest?

Great pics Matt! I love this time of year; snow and fall colors together are fantastic. I'd be interested in Red/White Red/White. It's one of my favorites. Let me know when you plan to go and I'll try to make it down.

Took a nice hike up to the First Bells Canyon Waterfall for the first time last week on the 17th, and had a great time. I Took some Beautiful photos of the fall colors there.



Beautiful fall colors here at the Bells Canyon trailhead. The trail was packed with hikers, ranging from little kids, to elderly people.


My Family making thier way up the trail with a nice view of the canyon in fall colors. As I noted before, the trail is very popular.


The lower Reservoir, all dried up. Most hikers stop here and go back (like we would), but we had bigger goals this time.


The Bells Canyon stream still had impressive amounts of water considering that it is Mid-October now. Up until now, the trail has been really easy, but I had a feeling inside telling me that very soon it will get harder.


First view of the valley, the trail is still pretty easy.


Finally lined up with the first Bells Tower, really nice trail with beautiful colors.


Same Bells Tower, now way far behind. At this point the trail was getting really steep


Made it! woooot, lucky we didn't miss it, because a lot of people do.


A high resolution of the waterfall, it was really beautiful up there, a surreal scene indeed.


A panorama of the Bells Towers from near the waterfall. There was really nice place to sit on flat rocks with a great view. This is where we chilled out and ate, before we had to leave.


Almost back to the first reservoir and the sun has already set behind the mountains.

these remind of my area, in north East Utah. Again, good job at capturing the feel of the season.

It is snowing and I am itching to put on some snowshoes.

Can't wait to see pictures of the snow, when it snows, looks like warmth and sunshine for the remainder of the week.

If anyone is interested I'm organizing a Pilot Peak hike for the WMC Sunday Nov 8, so if you any of you Wasatch fronters want to break that Wasatch Rut P.M me, but go to the Pilot Peak page first. This will be my 8th time so I should know the way by now.

I am going up the south ridge of mount supiour on Nov. 7th around 4 am. That is this Sat.

Next weekend I am looking at the North Ridge of The Pheifferhorn 13th to 14th.

Thanksgiving weekend starting either Thursday evening or early Friday morning I am starting at Alta at 3am, going up to the ridge and then to Lone Peak and down Bell Canyon. That would be link-up of the Bouillon Devide and the Beatout trail. For this hike I am planning Friday to Sunday night but I do not think it will take that long.

Anyone want to join me?

I had a little free time today so I went up the south ridge of superior today. What a beautiful day.








It was a little windy in some in places, but man what a day.
