This forum is for members who want to sell their gear and members who want to buy it.

Commercial posts are not allowed; this includes selling/advertising for your business or place of employment. Please report commercial posts to site management.

Please understand that SummitPost is not responsible for bad transactions. Buyers and sellers assume all risks; SummitPost simply provides the medium for buyers and sellers to "meet."

  • Fill in your profile with location (please include at least the state /country you are in.)

  • Prefix FS (For Sale), WTB (Want To Buy) in your title.

  • Only post your email address broken up like "john at domain dot com" or something like that. Often wonder why you are getting emails for pills you may or may not need? Enable members to email you, in the control Panel.

  • For tips on posting images and other useful information check out the FAQ area.

  • If you have multiple items to sell using individual threads and descriptive titles may get a better response than a vague title for multiple items. This is especially helpful when using the search function to find something.

  • Post as much description of what you are selling as you can including pictures. When these details aren’t included the first post will be somebody asking for it.

  • If you haven't sold anything on SP before--and especially if you've hardly ever posted here before--then you'll greatly reassure prospective buyers by offering references, so they have some way of knowing you're not going to take the money and run. If you have good eBay feedback, mention that. If you have climbed/hiked with other SP members it wouldn’t hurt to mention it. If you're an unknown here, you can't expect someone to send you money blindly and hope you're not a crook, with no potential recourse.

  • If you post an item and the first to respond does so via e-mail but doesn't post anything on the forum, you should alert everyone that a deal is pending. Otherwise, someone else will think they're first to respond and wonder why you're taking so long to get back to them.

  • Please keep posts not related to the sale to a minimum. If you have an issue with something for sale try to email the seller first.

That doesn't work. I wrote code to pull that out of web postings over 15 years ago, so I'm sure that others have done that as well. If you don't want to get junk email, don't list an email and have people contact you via PM.

Try mb.post, if anyone's still there. This is a climbing and mountaineering site.
