FS: Boreal G1 Lite Double Boots Size 46.5
Posted: Sun Dec 09, 2012 6:32 pmThese are brand new Boreal double boots. I bought them for a trip that was canceled before I could try the boots out, but too late to return them. I'd love to save them and keep my Alaska dreams alive, but I'm moving and so need the money. The only Boreal distributor in the US is Mountain Tools, and they sell these boots for $599 plus shipping--what I paid just last spring. I found Boreal after an exhausting search for boots that would fit my wide forefoot, and if you have a wide foot you know how hard it is to find boots that don't pinch. These fit perfectly, and for a pair of double boots in size 12.5 they are not heavy. They are also seriously bomb-proof, and will last many, many seasons. Unlike newer double boots like the Scarpa 6000, the inner boot on the G1 is not a fragile vapor barrier foam, but has leather and nylon construction that breathes and a rubber sole so they work as camp booties.

Lighter weight is achieved by utilization of water proof Dynatec upper with Lorica and carbon-glass reinforcements. Total weather protection is afforded by Sympatex - a textile fully waterproof yet breathable across it's entire surface. Result - drier socks and warmer feet.Inner boot is a sandwich of 6mm of micro-porous EVA foam insulation with Sympatex in the middle and durable inner cordura face. Underfoot, 1.4 mm of Neoprene (perforated for breathability and shock absorption) plus 10 mm of EVA foam insulation back the extra-rigid technical performance midsole.
