I guess there are similar existing threads for "Area/Mountain/Route" and "Trip Report", but not yet for "Article".

Here a good one, concise and informative:

This was posted one month ago as a forum thread, but it would deserve to be featured on the front page as an article (e.g. copying the first few lines, but maintaining the same layout as you click on [more].

Absolutely hilarious! Genial!

I wrote this article and making it a feature would really boost my ego. :D

Doing so could also let people know that this information is available, I guess, but that's really just an added bonus.

TR recommendation thread is here:
tr-nominations-for-the-front-page-t3378.html

It probably should be renamed to be consistent with the other 2 recommendation threads, to make it easier to find

I would suggest recycling the various how to climb specific mountain articles and featuring them at appropriate times. For example FortMental's article on Denali could be featured in the months leading up the the Denali climbing season, Brad Marshall's article on Acongua which is currently featured could be featured at this same time next year, and <shameless plug> my article on Rainier could be featured in the early spring when folks are planning their trips to the big R.</shameless plug>

What EB above says.
For TR's, look at this one - a very good read & never made front page:

For other good stuff, look at late Brutus' (Of Wyde) great write ups.
