Looks like a massive spammers' attack, see most of new profiles from yesterday and today...

Being there have been such a deluge of spammers/trolls recently, has there been any thought to making the process of becoming a member a little more onerous? Maybe requiring more personal information, downloading of some photos, etc? Adding a few more "steps" so that it isn't a 15 second process might help.

That's exactly what we are discussing for weeks and will implement as we speak

I've seen other sites have a slider bar which one would have to slide to register. Pretty much only a real person could get past the easy slide bar.
I think requiring a download is a bad idea considering that many would be paranoid of what it might be. What needs to be added in my opinion is simple stuff that is hard for a bot and easy on the user. This kind of software exists and is common. 8)

Yeah I have noticed many spammers joining SP lately. Not really cool if you ask me.

Some things have been implemented to slow the spamming down, and I think most of the obvious spam accounts recently have now been deleted.

However, we've known for about a week that it's not a bot and rather someone doing it manually, so a determined person will keep at it. Maybe once the person or people see that the game has changed, they'll go somewhere else.

In the meantime, we'll keep an eye out. It will also be a great help if members can use this thread to report obvious spammers.

This person keeps trying to troll me. Why am I always the target! They send me stupid little messages. They are always sexual in nature. I have them saved if an elf needs to see them.

Hotoven I think it'd be funnier if you just posted the messages.

I've sent you a PM saying who the troll is.

Thanks, it helps me understand why I was the target now.

Appears he is trying to sell North Face Gear by randomly placing posts in various threads that have nothing to do with buying/selling gear.
