In what way? I've not experienced any periods of slowness since the recent changes two weeks ago and I've been on the site quite a lot since then.

Diego is right. Little edits (like fixing a typo in picture caption) can be just as slow or slower than uploading a 4MB picture--the kind of slow where you go off, make a cup of coffee, load the dishwasher, come back, and it's still not done. But this is not consistent--sometimes text edits are pretty much instantaneous, the way they used to be. I don't have any theories about the explanation--I'm just reporting it.
