One reason for lack of technical route pages

I think one reason for lack of technical route pages is that it's so much harder to create a technical route page from memory as it is a non-technical route page.

It's pretty easy creating a route page for a non-technical mountain even several years after you made the climb by just looking through your maps and photos.

Unless you took really good notes, it's much harder to create a technical route page even a month or two after you made the climb. Every technical route page I have written was either written right after the climb was made or had at least another route description to look at and refresh memory. Things like route difficulty is easy to remember, but remembering individual pitch details, not as much.

Just a thought.

I don't know if this was already said in another thread but I'd bet that the number of SP members and the hiking/climbing community around the world that are 'technical climbers" compared to the number of hikers/climbers are like 4 to 1, or maybe much more than that. Just based on numbers you'll have more that contribute to a class 4 climbing (or less) route page or trip report.

Yes; of course. I thought the other reason was worth mentioning as well.

Another is, contentious as it is that there are other sites with existing much larger technical climbing communities. Some will want to make SP as thorough as them, and some will want to devote their efforts to those other sites.

Does it matter how many "technical route pages" SP has ?

I'm not sure the majority of folks (on this site) are interested in seeing technical route pages. Seems like the attraction is more on, well ...
