Many recent entries have been new pages, and I am not sure if it makes for too much unnecessary redundancy to have pages featured both up front and on What's New. What do you think?

Mt. Etna is a pretty impressive summit. It is a few feet shy of 11,000 feet in prominence, a very active volcano and has some pretty interesting subordinate features like the Alcontare Gorge. Add the amazing history that surrounds the mountain and you have a pretty action packed trip.
My brother lived in the nearby town of Motta Sant'Anastasia. We used to sit on his balcony and watch lava flows glowing at night.

I agree totally. A double look between the front page and the Whats New page is redundant. Limiting the featured pages to past buried gems is a much better idea, imho.

Agreed. But I roll with the flow. When things get slow (and they do), I feature some classic gems. I did this about ten days ago. Look at the past entries. New selections aren't on the What's New page for long. It's amazing how quickly they rotate through. The really good ones get a little extra exposure on the front page. I'm always looking for the opportunity to show off the old gems, though, because they deserve that exposure as well. Continue watching and be patient, because those good OLD ones will certainly be displayed in time!

This'll be kinda self-promoting, as I have also worked on the page, but since the ownership is not mine, I feel okay about it: I guess the reworked
High Tatra page is worth to be featured on the front page sometime. Just my 2 HUF

How about a little love for Oklahoma? I am an editor on this page, but Mark Doiron has done all the heavy lifting on this page in the last few days, so I do not think this is self promoting. The page has been dormant for the last two years and he has turned it into an excellent resource. Most of the big mountain people here have no idea this place even exists...

Hey everyone-Thanks for these outstanding suggestions. My we have some busy and productive members and they have done some outstanding work! My my my! Most impressive. Thanks guys for making the list and doing the work for me-I'm currently wrapped up in another project and haven't had the time to look around much-s I thank you for these very excellent suggestions!
