I would not be so quick to dismiss the need for a bag warmer than -10F. And not everyone enjoys using a VBL. One should plan accordingly based their planned clothing options, tent style (single wall vs double wall), and on an average of historical temps as opposed to a single year's weather. Personally, while I did sleep with my -20 bag unzipped most nights, there were definitely 2 nights @ 17 where I was glad I had it in early June '06. My $0.02
