I am afraid it won't. We supply more info regarding approaches and descents on specific routes than it will. It is somewhat abbreviated, but a great book just the same. Made small so one can haul it in with them. Prob best to try and narrow down your objectives, review the available beta not just at SP, but anywhere else on the web, and then ask specific questions if you still do not comprehend the route. The guide book provides small, crude, but very helpful maps to help get your orientated, and will definitely want it if for no other reason than that. There is always a hut guide book and copied pages of pretty much all routes at the hut as well.
If you are after the popular routes, to be honest, you will be among many with the same objective and it would be hard pressed to get lost up there in season. Good Luck, assuming it is your first time, you will be impressed. Do not be intimidated, it all falls into place once you are up there, dominant granite spires fill the skyline that are easy to follow.
