Climbing Mont Blanc 2016

Looking for someone to climb Mont Blanc with sometime during 2014.

I've climbed Kilimanjaro twice, but don't consider that as enough experience to take on Mont Blanc without a guide. With 2 (or more) sharing the expenses of a guide, I recon it would be quite a bit cheaper then doing it yourself. If anyone's got any tips for a cheap and good guide or anything other in general regarding the mountain I would love to hear it.

Cheers Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,

When are you thinking of heading to Chamonix? I'll be there last week of June and plan to have a crack at it. Let me know.

Hey

I have dreamed about Mt Blanc for a some time now. I have little mountaineering experience however I am extremely fit and would like to go. I am a student hence all commercial expeditions with costs soaring over £1.5k are not an option. I would be happy to share expenses of a guide. Only restriction for myself is that it would have the expedition would have to start no earlier than 2nd July. I will be very busy at the end of June.

I am based in London.

Kind Regards
donhubix

Keep me posted. I'm based in Heidelberg, Germany and would love to get a group together this summer. I did Mt. Rainier in 2008 so I've got experience at altitude and on glaciers.

Regards,

Brian

Hi, myself and two others are also looking to do Mont Blanc in the early summer. We are considering going without a guide, as we have some experience and to keep costs down. My understanding with guides is that they ask for payment per person, bluekenny have you managed to find a guide who will take a flat fee, regardless of group size? We are not against joining up with other people :)

Hello everyone,

I am planning to head to Chamonix this August and want to have a crack at Mt Blanc. I have a lot of climbing/hiking experience in the UK as well as some in the Alps (glacier travel/short-roping etc) and in the New Zealand Alps.

Would love to be able to plan to join up with someone in August for a summit attempt either with a guide or off our own backs.

Get in touch via email if you like at gileswords@gmail.com

Cheers,
GIles

Hey Giles

Unfortunately August is the only month in the summer that I'm not able to go hiking.

Hey,

My friend and I are going to Chamonix in 3 weeks. We'll arrive on the 27th of june. We are in really good condition and want to reach the summit. We've done some really nice trekking in the himalayas and in Scotland but we are not sure that we are really capable to climb mont blanc alone. So if anybody is interested in climbing with us, let me know... We have all the technical gear!! Thanks

Kenneth, did you manage to sort a climbing partner for Mont Blanc? My wife and I booked a guide for early September but she is now pregnant so there is a space available for someone else. If interested let me know and I can give you details of costs etc. I'm not a vastly experienced technical climber but a hillwalker/scrambler based in Glasgow. I've also been to reasonable altitude as I've done Kilimanjaro and Everest base camp.

My wife and I have a guided ascent booked for Mont Blanc in early September. She has fallen pregnant so unfortunately can no longer make the trip. If anyone is interested in taking her place let me know and I can give you details of costs, itinerary etc. Thanks

Hi all,

I'm a 24yo nature enthusiastic from Belgium who would like to climb the Mont Blanc this summer.
I was planbning on going there with a friend but unfortunately he wasn't able to plan it in his current holiday schedule.
I'm available end of August or in the first weeks of September. My preference is to hike from Chamonix to the top in 4-5 days in order to avoid the Aiguiles De Midi lift.
(I think it's a little stupid to go as high as 3800m by a lift before starting the hike + I'd rather take some time to get used to the height)

I have some experience, mainly in the Dolomites (Italy) having hiked there with my parents for 2 weeks every summer since 1996.
The highest I've ever been is the Monte Cevedale (3800) and I did a glacier passing twice with a guide.

Looking forward to chat if you're interested. My email is blommethomas at gmail dot com

Hi, my wife and I booked a guided Mont Blanc climb for early September but as she has fallen pregnant unfortunately she will not be able to make the trip. If anyone is interested in taking her place please get in touch and I can give you information on dates / costs etc. I'm easy to get on with, I've no huge technical climbing experience but have done various Via Ferrata routes in the Dolomites and been to altitude (Kilimanjaro and Everest base camp). The guide we have booked is British and well respected. If interested just get in touch.
