Mountain goats coming to Mt Jefferson

Sounds like the ever popular mountain goat is on its way back to Mt Jefferson this summer:

From the article:

"The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs are about to move 30 to 40 Rocky Mountain goats from their home in the Elkhorn Mountains onto the slopes of Oregon's second-tallest peak.

Corey Heath, a department wildlife biologist in Bend, said the transplants are planned for July, although dates haven't been set."

Its astonishing how well that herd in the Elkhorns is doing, its great that they are thriving to the extent that they can be transplanted across the state. I know they have already transplanted sheep from the elkhorns to strawberries, and that on their own the goats have migrated into the greenhorns.
