The San Carlos shouldn`t charge to look after your gear.

They don`t normally take reservations - we`ve tried in the past, but then normally you wouldn`t need one.

However, 15 of us are there this weekend so we needed to phone them, some of us will be in their "sister hotel" a couple of blocks away. I`ll let you all know what this is like.

AFAIK they don`t have email - I could try and dig the phone no. out if you want it.

An excellent point. The Yak trax are probably the wrong thing to do and a bad idea. If I was going back, I would probably haul my crampons and axe. Really, it is not that much weight, but could come in handy. We had pretty dry conditions, but a bit of snow could make that a whole different climb.

As for the San Carlo, we had no reservation, and there was no charge for the closet storage. There were only two other parties there when we were there.

Again, thanks for the helpful info! (I will be with shanahan96 on the trip)

Stuart B, we'd love to hear about your experience there & the rest of your trip when you return! We're heading there the last week in March. Good luck & have fun!

We're planning on taking axes, crampons, the whole shebang just in case.
