If you mean the radio hut it is about 3900m. The La Hoya trailhead is 4000m. Cheers!

I have the Altzomoni hut at 3950m, or 13k.
We stayed there. It's primitive, but comfortable. A bit of a walk over to the La Joya trailhead, especially if you have to walk back up after your climb like we did.

 Primative? Then how do you describe the hut at 15k? I thought the Altz hut was one of the better ones in Mexico. Cheers!

Yes, primitive is subjective LOL. But some places call it Altzomoni LODGE, which might be a bit misleading. I didn't look in the upper hut because it was stuffed with people.
Altzomoni is a heck of a lot better than a tent. There is a fireplace in each room (leaving a smoky residue) that works well as a place to put your cook stove. Actually, the bunks are pretty comfortable and there was hardly any vermin.
There is an electric light if you can find the switch.
At the end of the hall there is even a non-flushing toilet. You dip some water out of a barrel and pour to simulate a flush, which I'm pretty sure just rushes down a pipe and into the field below...

Hi, a friend of mine recently went to Itza and I saw pics of the hut on the arista del sol route. Its called Grupo de los Cien and its quite high up, 4780 m or 15,682 ft. [/i]
