In DF you could try:

Rubens (in the centre)
Vertimania (in Mixcoac - south of the centre)
Campaventura (in Coyoacan)

In Valle de Bravo (a good rnr stop after Nevada de Toluca) theres a neat little shop owned by some guy who climbed Everest (if he´s off guiding and his Ma´s looking after the store she´ll probably proudly show you the photos!)

Here is what I found out after looking for shops selling mountaineering stuff in Mexico City and in Puebla.

Mexico City:

El Séptimo Grado
Fernando Montes de Oca # 61-2
Col. Condesa, (entre Cuernavaca y Jojutla)
tel: 55 53 27 27 y 55 53 37 77
email: contacto@elseptimogrado.com
website: www.elseptimogrado.com

Acrobarium
Av. Miguel Angel de Quevedo 617
Col. Romero de Terreros
Deleg. Coyoacan
tel: 55 54 12 99
email: contacto@acrobarium.com.mx
website: www.acrobarium.com.mx

Vertimania
Patriotismo 899 Loc. 1
Esquina Río Mixcoac
Col. Insurgentes Mixcoac
tel: (55) 56 15 52 29
tel/ fax: (55) 56 15 52 30
email: ventas.mixcoac@vertimania.com
website: www.vertimania.net

Deportes Ruben's
Venustiano Carranza, 17
tel: 55 518 56 36
email: rubens@mail.teesa.com

At Acrobarium, El Septimo Grado[/i] and Vertimania, you'll find all you need for mountaineering.
Deportes Ruben's provides for all kinds of sports, including mountaineering, at very reasonable prices, and it's also conveniently located in the city centre.

Puebla:

Origines
Av. Matamoros 7a, Col. La Paz,
tel/fax (01 222) 266 59 82
email: origensa@yahoo.com
website: www.origenespuebla.com.mx

Representaciones
Deportivas de Puebla
4 Oriente no 5
tel: (01 222) 232 50 18

Jamboree, Centro de Campismo
Av. 11 Sur 2514, Col. Chulavista
tel: (01 222) 243 09 49
email: jamboreecc@yahoo.com.mx

Origines specializes in 'deportes extremos' and definitely has the biggest offer on mountaineering equipment, mostly imported.
Representaciones is more of a general sports shop but has all you need for mountaineering, especially during the winter season.
Most of their stuff is Mexican made and therefore a lot cheaper but still good quality.
Jamboree is a scouts shop and has everything for outdoor camping (less for mountaineering though).
