Hi Ilona

I've been in Bolivia twice and used normal gas in my msr stove. I have no problems, unfortunatly I did not find white gas, but also I didn't looked for hardly.
In Bolivia the normal gas for vehicules are called gasolina, and white gas they call gasolina blanca or benzina

I just arrived in La Paz, and have been asking around a bit about fuel. We have an MSR XGK. Everyone seems to suggest buying premium gasoline at the gas station, and priming it with some alcohol. Kerosene and white gas do not seem to be available, unless any of you have any secret spots.

suggestions?

We had the same problems in 2005!
After we returned to Europe, I read in an austrian webpage, that they sell white gas at ELMA Tours - Sagarnaga Street 319 Office Nr. 3

I just googled http://bolivianjourneys.bizland.com/independent.htm - Sagarnaga Street 363

It´s forbidden to sell white gas in Bolivia.... This is used to produce cocaine, in theory, you can be arrested by carrying a bottle...
