Does anyone know if this route is open for sure this year? I have a well known American guide service telling me it is not, but then Aconcagua Express is telling me that it is but with an increased permit fee for this year. Can anyone verify this for me here?

Also, any comments or experiences with Aconcagua Express would be greatly appreciated. http://www.aconcagua-express.com/

Thank you,

Andy

Hi. I exculsively use Aconcagua express. They have alwasy come through for us as a mule provider. Have heard one positive review for guiding services and one not so positive... The positive one was for lodgistics on Tupungato. The somewhat negative one was for a last-minute guide on Aconcagua. My friend who was to guide him came down with cerebral ediema and had to hire someone quickly to replace him. The knock was he felt rushed a bit and the schedual was not very flexable. I would think things would go smoothly if your needs are made clear from the beginning that you make the schedule.

They are certainly honest. Mention Bill Marler and Laurie Skreslet recommended him this may help.

Have not heard the status on the Guanaco (SP) route as yet.

Good luck and cheers.
