Hi All,

I'm planning on going to Aconcagua this dec. 2010 and i was looking at the site for Mendoza, and under the "aco" section it seems as though the cost for a 20 day permit to climb in peak season is http://aconcagua.mendoza.gov.ar/ $1800. My spanish is non existant but i seem to recall looking at this site a few months ago and the cost not being quite so high. Am i mistaking or is that what it's going for these days?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

I see it. High season International ascent permit $1800.00 Holy shit. I seem to remember it was much less in 2007

Remember, the symbol for Argentine pesos is: $.

If these prices were in USD, they would most likely be listed something like: US$, USD, etc.

So, it looks like the prices are a little higher than they were last year.

I hope I saved a few from needing to clean-out their shorts!

Your not the first person to have a stroke when that figure is first viewed. Noticed that on a poster at the permit office. Almost fainted until it occurred to me it was the peso sign. Still a far cry from the 75 dollars it used to cost in the 80's. (•:
