Cordillera Blanca Guide Service Help

I'm in the preliminary stages of planning a trip to Peru next summer (2012). I was there a few years ago, but didn't make it to the CB. This time I will and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good guide service. Thinking about Ishinca Valley routes, or anything in the Huaraz region, but nothing too ambitious (like Alpomayo).

Anyways, I've had some contact with Peruvian Andes Adventures http://www.perutrekkingclimbing.com/peru-trekking-tour-pgs/climbing-in-peru.html and they seem pretty solid, but I'd like some outside info. My girlfriend is from Peru and I speak enough Spanish to get by, so we're not looking for an American outfit. We'd rather our money stay local.

Thanks in advance!

The Casa de Guias in Huaraz is the place to go. They have a list of all IFMGA certified guides in the region and can connect you with a good outfit. Beware of most places offering advanced booking as the prices will be substantially higher than if you book upon arrival. Have fun and good luck!

We used this guide company:

http://www.nuestramontana.com/

I would ask for Eloy or his brother Octavio for guides. They are both very good imo. Feel free to PM me for more detail.

Cheers,

AB
