I am going to Bolivia end of August for two weeks of climbing. I will be in need of the butane gas canisters with the screw valve on top.

I use the Jetboil stove. Does anyone know if these canisters are easy found in La Paz? Your information is greatly appreciated.

You can get them at several shops in town. Just know that you will be paying about three times as much as what they might cost at home.

Back from La Paz. No problem finding butane gas canisters (the one with the valve for eg. Jetboil) on the central Illampu street. Price around USD 7.00
Illampu street had several well equipped shops stuffed with mountain gear for sale and for rental. One of them, eg. Andean Base Camp, at Illampu street No. 863, La Paz.
They also helped us with taxi transportations to/from Condoriri (Bolivianos 250) and Zongo (Bolivianos 200) one-way.
