Hi, climbers:

Some climbers tried to bring gas far away to Kashgar when they climb Muztagh ata. In China gas is not allowed to be carried in train,public bus or plane.It is regarded as exposive substance and inflammables.
At the entrance there is x-ray check on your luggage, the gas is confiscated when it is found out.
You may get gas in Kashgar.

Bit of a problem if you are heading to the Tian Shan from Urumqi and not going to Kashgar since I got caught in Urumqi! I'd just use a good multifuel stove and be done with all the hassle of trying to smuggle gas onto buses/trains. Else board a bus/train one stop out of town or hitch.
