Klamath Fall has 3-5 inches of snow as of a day back, thats about a thousand feet lower than the turnout from the highway and about 30-40 miles away.
Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not believe they plow the [dirt] road that leads to the trailhead. Which makes a 12 mile trip a 16-18 or something.
Dont know anything current, but if you come direct up the south from the sno-park (as opposed to the trail on the east or cross country from the north or west) you can avoid most of the avalanche risk. IMO, the safest route in the winter.
