Climber Involved in Rescue Issued Citation

Postby Augie Medina » Sat Jul 12, 2014 12:34 am

This is not just. The rescuer spent several hours with the fallen climber, including building an anchor to secure the victim to the ledge he was on. He waited until SAR arrived to take the injured climber away. After it was all over with, he was issued a citation for interfering with the rescue! How about using a little discretion here?

That's strange.
It happened 4 months ago.
Don't we have a more detailed information (e.g. on another climbing forum)?

I agree with SLR......grew up climbing in the gorge.....those S&R guys while having good intentions, really need much better training. That climber did them a favor.
