We could see the giant thunderstorms 'anvil-ing' out from Bakersfield today.

does anybody know if the 395 will be open again after the massive mudslide? it was closed as of last night.

Why do all California highways start with "The"?

Thats a southern CA thing. Here in northern CA we talk normal.

Yep, a surefire way to distinguish residents of Superior CA from those of The Southern CA.

Happens here in Las Vegas too ("the 215," "the 95," "the 15," etc.). 'Course, we're just a suburb of L.A. anyway...
