What's New Asia - October-December, 2005

Postby Nelson » Fri Sep 30, 2005 7:55 pm

<font color="red"><b>Thanks to Johan Heersink for volunteering to maintain this thread in January</b></font>

This thread will highlight new pages for Asia and the Middle East. It will include mountain pages, routes, and trip reports.

I will keep an occasional eye on the <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/show/whatsnew_query.pl">What's New</a>, and <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/show/mountain_query.pl?continent=Asia&country=Country&state=US+State&keyword=Key+Word&sort_by=Last+Edited&x=9&y=6">Last Edited Mountain</a> pages, but if I miss something then simply add a message to the bottom of this thread and I'll incorporate the information up here. This is especially true for significantly revamped pages, since I can't tell if the edit was a simple spelling correction or a complete re-write.

A page for another 8000er is now ready for presentation. Check out the revamped <a href=http://www.summitpost.org/show/mountain_link.pl/mountain_id/2421>page for Gasherbrum I - the world's 11'th highest peak!</a>

Thanks, Nelson.

I plan on adding the various mountains in and around Hong Kong, but I don't have any decent photos so I'm going to wait to add them until I've taken a few decent shots of the scenery.

Gradually the HK section should grow.

Cheers.

Recently added by member <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/mountains/user_link.pl/user_id/18549">Alexei Gorbatenkow</a> an important <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/mountains/route_link.pl?route_id=6558&object_id=2425">New Route</a> on the <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/show/mountain_link.pl/mountain_id/2425">Koskulak Page</a> as well as some splendid photographs to accompany it.

Added by the same member a equally important <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/mountains/route_link.pl?route_id=6559&object_id=2258">New Route</a> on the <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/show/mountain_link.pl/mountain_id/2258">Muztagata Page</a> , again accompanied by a very good set of photgraphs.

Nomad has adopted and redone <a href="http://www.summitpost.org/show/mountain_link.pl/mountain_id/516">Zard Kooh</a> in Iran. Looks much better.
