I have been having a love affair with the SW for years. It is magical and you will not leave the same person.
Escalante...so much to do and see...very wild and not touristy. tons of hiking but not real trails once you are in the washes. make sure you can route find.
zion...subway and more
Canyonlands the needles district
arches ...is ok but touristy
Havasupi... is a must! but they had a huge flood a year or so ago and it has changed a bit.
The Wave...great hike there is route finding as most of it is off trail. amazing views and more
Vermillan cliffs area...wire pass and beyond
Bryce... is cool but kinda boring and a long drive in to just hike a couple miles. pretty but other places are worth more of your time. Like Cedar Breaks.
Goblin valley is really fun.
Capitol Reef... upper muley twist backpack....should have a 4x4 or at least all wheel drive with clearance for the TH my subaru made it o problem. A great hike up to look down on amazing views of water pocket fold.
rent a 4x4 or all wheel...it will pay off in the end for the more fun areas off the main roads.
have fun and post pics when ya get back
