Baby trouts!
This was on a snorkeling trip in Big Tujunga Creek. I got a waterproof bag for my camera. I loaded my dive gear on my Klein. I pedaled up to the south end of Fall Creek Rd. Then headed down to the stream above the reservoir. I ditched the bike and headed on foot downstream. There were some fairly deep pools. The water was not to chilly. I was using a 2-3mm wetsuit. Really a fun experiment.

The unusual, a ringtail on dinner ledge on the S face of Washington Column in Yos. Was trying to get our full bag of dinner rolls. My buddy thought stashing it under a rock would be okay, in the morning the whole bag of rolls was gone.

One time on Sandia Crest by Albuquerque was snowshoeing in deep snow and coming over a little rise surprised a small deer feeding on some brush. Guess the snow was so quiet it didn't hear me coming and didn't see me till I was like 5 ft away. It couldn't get any traction in the deep snow and if I'd tried I could have grabbed it it was that close. But I froze and it finally got traction and was gone down the steep side of the crest.

2 years ago at the base of Mt Sir Donald, Canada. A mother grizzly with 2 cubs chased me away from my bivy looking for food.

last year 3 black bears in one day by Cascade Pass, but they were way downhill feeding on blueberries.

Not hiking, but this little guy was hanging out by my front door this morning. We've had such deep snows that I think he was a little desperate in his scavenging and he was scouting the bird feeder. His response to my voice was a little too easy - as if he's had human contact before.

Baboon, Giraffe, Wild pigs, Zebra, the Antelopes, Hippos. (The big cats - no way, only from the car)

We have seen big bucks while hiking on Mt Williamson in the San Gabriels - Oh dear !!

The other day while in Sierra de Gredos I could see two foxes, one when driving there and the other on Prao Zas while solo-ascending Los Campanarios. I'll post at least a pic soon. I also saw a big male Gredos Ibex running up the mountain but I couldn't take a photo, it was too far.
