| Hiked up from guffy , met wolf leverich on top, hundred peaks man, very cool guy, then off to dwason peak and then back to car at sundown. Pine is my favorite summit of so.cal. the best views of baldy to be found. | ||

| This is a great day hike to do by itself or if you want to go on to Baldy. Liked it enough to do it two more times this year. Lots of wildlife and few people. | ||

| Wonderful late spring climb. I started from Guffy CG and hiked up the road bagging Mt. Wrightwood on the way. Then I took the backbone on up nailing this one. It was a lovely day. The views of Pine from Guffy were great-with it's massive granite side reflecting the sun. | ||

| The gate to Blue Ridge Road was locked so I pedaled my bike the 8 miles or so over the soggy road to the trail head. It was well worth the extra effort. It was a great climb with perfect weather! Still plenty of snow on the mountain. | ||

| Did this climb some time in May, 1991, I think. This was before the East Blue Ridge Road was closed at Guffy Camp. I drove to the Other Devil's Backbone trailhead on the southeast side of Wright Mountain. Hiked with full pack up to Pine Mountain, spent the night on the delightful summit, then day-hiked to Baldy the next day, returned for my pack and hiked out. | ||

| My son, Matt, and I started out at Vincent Gap. We hiked down into Mine Gulch, then followed the creek to where Pine Mountain ridge comes down. We climbed up to the crest of the ridge at this point and followed big horn sheep trails to the summit. We caught glimpses of many big horn sheep along the way. After lunch at the summit, we hiked down the traditional backbone route, then the Acorn trail into Wrightwood and got a ride back to the car. A VERY tiring day. About 5500' of elevation gain and 17 miles total. We began the hike at 5:30 am and reached the Acorn trailhead just before 4:00. | ||
