Pinxter Flower

Pinxter Flower

The pinxter flower is a type of pink azalea that resembles the non-native honeysuckle. It blooms profusely in May in the middle and upper elevations of the mountains here, often lining the trails on either side and filling the air with a sweet scent. Shenandoah National Park, VA-- May 2008
