The road to the trailhead was muddy and a little icy. The hike from the pass was snowy but not too bad in winter. Pinyon Peak via the southwest ridge was a nice route.

Last year I did Lime choosing it over Pinyon because of building thunderstorms. Went back to scale the great Pinyon. Carrying both kids was a killer (pack weight up to 70 lbs now). Kids were having so much fun they didn't want to leave summit. So I cleared the summit area of dead wood, rebuilt the summit carin with a 10 foot pole sticking up and built a rock lined trail the last 100 feet. Also saw tracks in snow on top, turns out to be Wasatchvoyage one day before! http://www.willhiteweb.com/tintic_mountains/pinyon/lime_peak_234.htm

My wife and I climbed it from the south side and right from the highway on our way to Delta. There was some postholing, but we didn't need snowshoes.

Went up the west side and encountered more snow than expected but went down SW ridge, which is the way to go.
