Beautiful day!The weather from August 2nd was great but belies what happened in the Big Thompson Canyon the Night of July 31,1976.
Philt's contrasting pictures of the stream Giffre in flood and as it usually is prodded my peronal memory of the big Thompson Disaster. We had driven into Boulder from Ohio at 8:00 p.m. July 31. We ate and then I was going to drive up the Big Thompson Canyon to Estes Park but continuing low clouds changed my mind and we remained in Boulder that night.
During the night 145 people lost their lives in the Big Thompson Flood.
