Beautiful..

Looks like that snow fell just before
Halloween, which is normal for northern UT.

How cold was it? In the twenties yet?

Re: Beautiful..

Thank you, I appreciate your comment. We do typically get snow in the higher elevations around mid-October. It can make for some amazing scenery with the Autumn colors and fresh snow :)
On this particular day it was down to about 24 degrees, however just a few days later when I was in the same area again the temps were in the high 40s.

Re: Beautiful..

Hey, not a problem..

I lived in Tooele for 13 years. I spent most
of my time in the Oquirrhs, but I'm hoping
those freezing/thawing cycles will not lead
to an extreme avalanche danger.

Not looking forward to hearing about somebody being "gobbled up" by an avalanche.

Guess ya gotta think positive.

Re: Beautiful..

The Oquirrhs have been one of the relatively close areas that I need to explore.

Yeah, it's always a threat in the winter and a tragic occurrence when it happens to someone. Positive thoughts and avalanche awareness/preparedness to keep safe.

They are predicting a good La Nina weather pattern that should be bringing us some good and constant snow. Hopefully it will be like 07-08 winter. Lots of constant good snow to keep the avalanche danger low!
