Hello,
I'm living in Durango for the summer and am looking for a partner(s) for snow climbs and backpacking trips that have high summits as goals. I don't have rock climbing experience beyond unroped scrambling, but have accomplished a great many long distances treks and high summits already, as well as great multitudes of shorter backpacking trips in all different kinds of environments at all times of year. I wouldn't mind learning some technical climbing with a mentor, especially rappeling from class 4 summits and crevasse rescue techniques (as I've already done several glaciated peaks but wasn't roped in!), but technical climbing isn't really my primary focus. If you're looking for a long-term partner, well, I live along the Front Range most of the year (unfortunately), so I wouldn't really be out of reach. Aconcagua is planned for this coming northern hemisphere winter, as well.

| yesmountain | pigeon peak possibility | | | I wonder if we could get up Pigeon Peak and back to Durango in one day by catching the early train up and catching the late train down?
