Am looking for information on the R5 route in France....
Trekking in the Atlas Mtns, sport climbing in Spain.
Would like to hike all or at least part of the R5 or Grand Rondonee in France in November, if possible. I know the refugees are closed this time of year. I was planning on biovacing anyways. Main concern is snow depth, avvy danger, suitability of a solo trek this time of year.
Just starting to do research on this, so it's possible that this is more of a bc ski tour that time of year. Do you know??
Backup plan is to go to Morocco for hiking and/or rock climbing.
Backup to that is rock climbing in Spain.
Also looking for any other ideas. Looks like I'll be leaving Europe this fall and want to take 3-4 weeks to travel and have some fun before going.
I climb around a 6 UIAA (outdoors) and am an experienced backcountry telemark skier.
The tentative start dates are Nov. 4 or the following week.
