Description

Hi there!

I'm looking for partners to for several trips to the California 14ers. In general, I've been leaving San Diego (Encinitas) on Friday night and heading to Lone Pine/Independence/Big Pine for the first night. Grabbing my permits and heading out on the trail. I've had to cancel a few trips recently due to partners backing out, so I'm looking for reliable partners to meet up with.

My experience level is not very high. Mountaineering is pretty new to me, but i'm diving into it (respectfully), and it has quickly become a new passion. Every time I head out there I learn a lot and hope to continue learning. I would be super grateful to learn from someone more experienced, but I would also love to go out with someone at my skill level.

My tentative plans:

September 28-30: Mt Tyndall, Mt Williamson, or Split Mountain

October 5-7: Mt Tyndall, Mt Williamson, or Split Mountain

October 12-14: Mt Tyndall, Mt Williamson, or Split Mountain

I'm flexible on which mt, which weekend.

All could change due to inclement weather of course.

Let me know if you are interested. I live in Encinitas, so if you are in the greater SD area, it would be great to get together first for coffee or something. Male or female of course.

Look forward to touching base

Hey man -

I attempted Split last month but we got off route and turned back 3 hours from summit. If you want any advice, let me know.

Are you able to do October 2-3 instead of 5-7? I am heading up to do White Mountain but would rather tackle a tougher route. You probably need more technical experience on Williamsom but I'd be down to do Split again if you have a vehicle that can get out there (its really nicey and I went with a friend who has 4wd).

Let me know if you are flexible to go up on Oct 2-3. I'm about the same age. Live in OC.
