Hello! My name is Adam, I'm 25 and I've just moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. While I'm here I'd like to get on some of the tall hills of the Andes, starting with the tallest!
I am looking to climb Aconcagua this climbing season via the normal route. The season generally ends around mid March so I would be looking to begin in February or early March. I have just moved to Buenos Aires and will be planning the expedition from here.
I have experience mountaineering with crampons and an ice ax from climbs in the Sierra Nevada and the Adirondacks. I also have a fair amount of winter camping experience in California and New York as well. At Stanford I co-taught a wilderness education course so I am well versed in how to prevent and diagnose HACE, HAPE, frostbite, hypothermia and the other nasties to look out for at high altitude and in the cold.
I'm looking for someone with a similar level of experience. I have a mountaineering tent and a four season stove, as well as most of the rest of the group gear.
