I'm new to Portland and am looking for people who would be willing to let me tag along on their big mountain trips. I'm an intermediate climber with solid technical and winter skills, but not a lot of big mountain back country experience. I've climbed Rainier and a few fourteeners in Colorado, but that's about it. I used to be on SAR in AZ and am a safe and level-headed climber.

I am going to be climbing and skiing the cascade volcanic arc in may and early June. If you are interested in summiting Broken Top, the three sisters, mount Jefferson, mount Washington, three fingered jack, or thielson, I will be doing those peaks (and more) in mid may. If you don't ski that is fine, I am happy to ski at glissade pace and to help navigate tricky down climbing sections. I would also describe myself as an intermediate mountaineer who is very comfortable with glacier travel and rescue. I have strong avalanche awareness skills and am very happy to turn back if things do not look safe. I am currently living and ski mountaineering in the tetons.

I would call myself an intermediate climber that's fairly new to winter mountaineering but I am hooked. I will be in Portland this weekend with a day (Sunday) +2 nights off (Sat & Sun) and was hoping to climb Mt. Hood, but lack climbing partner(s). I have crampons, ice axe, helmet (as well as some climbing gear and winter camping gear if necessary) was hoping to climb it in one push though and glissade down wherever possible.
I am a safe climber and don't have summit fever, however have the drive and endurance to move if it seems within grasp. If you are interested in climbing there (or anywhere with similar conditions in the area) or know anyone who is, please DM me. Thanks...

I am doing my first ascent of Mount Hood on Saturday night, June 14, with my son. Interested in comparing notes and joining?
