Description
Ever since I saw tracks on this ridge from the summit of Monte Cristo two years ago in January I've been interested in traversing the ridge. I would expect to do this over two very long days:
Day 1: Ascend Ferguson Canyon, camp at saddle between BF Twins and Sunrise Pk.
Day 2: Complete Ridge traverse, descending to Alta via Cardiff Pass.
This is an exposed ridgeline with high cornice hazard, so I would want to do the climb implementing technical snow travel techniques (roped travel, either simul-climbing or w/ belays using pickets in sections), during a period of decently stable snow, and with qualified partners (i.e. strong aerobic conditioning, strong winter mountaineering experience including avalanches & cornices).
I am hoping to do this route while I am in town during the first part of January. Is anyone interested?

| Hey I am interested, remember climbing with me and Peter Golden at the S-curve right before school? I have little winter experience though, mostly backcountry snowboarding in Silver, Days, and Grizzly along with some early spring climbs of Monte Cristo. Climbed Rainier this summer, but am unsure of how hardcore this would be in the winter. I have been to Dromedary and BF Twin via Furgeson and Deaf Smith in the Summer, but thats different as I am sure the Sunrise section will be quite hairy. Get back to me and tell me some more about your plans.....question-will you be skinning or snowshoeing up? | | Posted Nov 22, 2006 7:42 pm |

| Did I ever respond to this, or did I completely flake out here? It's still waiting to be done if you're interested :-) | | Posted Sep 2, 2009 1:15 am |
