Description

As opposed to the past 3(!) winters where I've been busy studying, I'm FREE this winter!! I'd like to take full advantage of this & hit the slopes, the ice walls, & some snowy Sierra peaks as much as possible.

Looking for Bay Area (primarily for car-pooling purposes) climbers who would like to get together for skiing/snowboarding, X-country skiing, ice climbing, or winter mountaineering. Lake Tahoe seems like the easiest place to get to the slopes for some lift-access downhill fun, other places in the Sierra (& Shasta) for the rest. Oh yeah- have yet to successfully summit Shasta in the winter, so if you're up for that, let me know! Casaval Ridge is a favorite of mine there.

Don't need to necessarily have a vehicle, as I've a truck. Having your own equipment (don't need rope-I have that) would be beneficial, as would a good understanding of ropework, anchors, & belay systems.

If you're still with me & interested, give me a shout- it's time to get out there!

aakercount me in

Hi, i'm pretty new to this whole interweb scene, but i'd love to get in on some climbing/snowboarding/skiing/whatnot. i've got some of my own gear, a fair amount of training- emt-b, avy 1, some basic rock and mountaineering stuff- plus a somewhat-reliable car. Shasta this winter sounds like a fun trip.

emilieAAC Ice Climbing Weekend

Hey there,
The American Alpine Club is having an Ice-Climbunity weekend on Feb 9-11 in Truckee. I have already registered and wouldn't mind someone to car pool with (I can drive).
I am a beginner ice climber (Lee Vining last year and Ouray Ice Fest last weekend) w/tools but only top roping experience. Have been more into mountaineering in the past...
Let me know if you want more info...

HamidaghLet's go!

Hey Dirk,

We talked a long time ago about climbing together. We should talk again, we might have some common objectives.

P.S word is, you know about this Shuteye ridge place...I'd love to know more about that!

clmbrwhite climbing

I am not a skier or snowboarder but love to climb mountains. So ice climbing or snow/glaciers ascends - no need to ask me twice. Just let me know when.

climber07I'm down

Not sure if you are still using this site, but I'm down this winter. If you want to do Shasta this summer, I'd love too do that as well.

Are you still looking for climbing partners? I am too, and I also have a pretty flexible schedule, so contact me and maybe we can meet up.
