Description

Looking for a company (someone with a kid of approximately the same age) to hike Mt Whitney some time in the second part of August. The plan is to start from the Onion valley, go over Kearsarge and Forrester passes ( as a good acclimatization) and then climb Mt Whitney either directly from the West or (more likely) from the Russell-Whitney saddle via the North face. I have done the latter before and I'm sure it should be fun for kids. Then descend North Fork of Lone Pine creek. I estimate the time as 5-6 days. There is still plenty of permits for Kearsarge trailhead, but they may run out soon.
We need to leave cars at two traiheads, that's why I'm in particular interested in company. Besides, it should be more fun for kids. My son has climbed with me Mt Langley and Split Mtn before, so he's more or less good at altitude.

MIne is 7. She wants to go up Amelia Earhart peak in july (her idol) . As far as I am concerned , there should be more kids like ours.Drop a line if a Yosemite date is good for you. I have a group(50) to go the cables route June 17th. Its a fund raiser for a cancer patient...drop a line if you need more info...
