Description
Looking for people who can do a few weekend trips to the lower Sierra's (eg Whitney, White Mtn) or Colorado (eg. Massive, etc) during this upcoming winter.
I'm an intermediate to advanced backpacker & hiker and have been expanding my skills into winter alpinism and would just like a few folks to head out with. Always safer in numbers...
I'm open to pretty much anything so drop me a line.
Thanks
J

| Would like to do a winter Whitney trip or something as well. I've been packing in the Sierras for a while now and slowly adding climbing as well. I have winter gear but no technical gear. Helmet, ice axe, and crampons is the extent on my climbing gear. If you need a climbing partner, count me in. Thanks.

| Hi Guys,
Thanks for the reply. Looks like we're pretty spread out so we should talk about times, etc. Can you PM me with rough times? It looks like we're all into Whitney so I think the location is settled...look forward to speaking with you both.
Regards

jddeetz | Winter Climbs | | | My story is pretty much the same as Bascuela's. I'm interested in a winter ascent of Whitney as well. Not too sure specifically what skills are necessary for that time of year... I've got all the gear necessary, but have never taken classes etc. related to winter mountaineering. Fill me in on the specifics. My email is jddeetz@gmail.com | Posted Sep 22, 2009 9:18 pm |

| I live in Bishop and am up for anything involving the mountains. I have experience with rock, some ice, minimal snow/glacier, minimal backcountry skiing, and have spent lots of time in the mountains here this summer. Just looking for partners to get out and climb/ski. I have lots of spare time lately... | Posted Oct 10, 2009 7:59 pm |

| Ok everyone. Unless we just set a date we'll never get it done. How about the Friday after Thanksgiving next month? We can meet up Friday morning as far up the road we can get at that time and go from there? I would need to leave on Sunday. What is the group's route preference? JMT or MR? I've not yet done MR so someone else would need to lead.
Let me know. Thanks! | Posted Oct 12, 2009 10:54 am |
