A perfect ascent day for this little peak. I made it from the parking lot to the saddle in 52 minutes. 13 more minutes and I was on top. I liked this one better than neighboring 9627. The views were much better: Sandia Peak to the north (with views of Whiskey Peak, The Thumb, Hail Peak, and the Jawbone), and South Sandia Peak to the south.

from the west
Came up the Pino Trail from the edge of Albuquerque, and hit this one after 9627 on the other side of the saddle. The short (thankfully!) bushwhack from the Crest Trail is no joke. The only saving grace was that I could mostly see over the vegetation, so I didn't feel totally lost. The summit actually has some views, as it sits at the top of a cliff band. It's obvious why these two summits see few visitors.

Climbed to this highpoint while hiking the crest trail. Great views of the rest of the crest and the city.
