Potato Peak is an easy hike, but the last part of the access road is kind of rocky. Potato Peak is located northwest of the famous Bodie ghost town. The road from Bodie passes by both Bodie Mountain and Potato Peak and then a side road comes in from the north to Potato Peak.
It is less than 1/4 mile and 200 ft of EG to the summit from where I parked near a small comm building. When you are here, drive on a little further and hike up Bodie Peak also. The Bodie ghost town is worth the price of admission and together with these short hikes, makes for a nice outing. 8/13/2007 Images
