So why is this person still here?

Are you allowing the person's profile to remain just to figure out how to close the so-called loophole?

Have the Elves tried this loophole, themselves?

Scott wrote that the Elves can manually adjust power points for anyone, so why are they not taking away/adjusting the power points/vote weight to be inline with normal standards for someone with only two page contributions?

If this is one person's creative way to acknowledge finding a loophole in the system, then fine. But at least make things right.

On a side-note, I think the photo is funny. I just feel honored for my decapitation to be included with so many other peakbaggers. It is a real way to "get a head" in life.

We know how to close the loophole; we just have to wait for Matt to make the change (if he views it necessary, which I assume he will).

I guess a lot of people knew that it was there, but never took advantage of it in the same way. It's been there for almost nine years, but I don't know if many have used it intentionally just to gain points quickly.

I would say what it is (anyone can do it), but it is pretty simple. It's probably not a good idea to announce how until it's been fixed.

Scott wrote that the Elves can manually adjust power points for anyone, so why are they not taking away/adjusting the power points/vote weight to be inline with normal standards for someone with only two page contributions?

As soon as it's fixed, we won't need to manually adjust. Plus having the person have that many points leaves it up there so Matt can see why a change is needed. Even before this happened, there has been discussion of ditching the feature that the person is using to rack up points anyway. Not that many people use that feature.

I feel the same way. If ever a new elf is needed, I'd vote for Power Lord.

I see what he did

That's hardly even a loophole, just a normal consequence of the nature of the site.
You could adjust the point value for certain contributions (like was done for photos once - remember when OM had the most points on the site?) , you could add a diminishing-returns factor to make it harder to get all the way to #1, but the only way to prevent it is to actively police the site.
You can detect and prevent suspiciously rapid posting, but if somebody is patient (i.e., adds a time delay to their script), this kind of thing can't be prevented, only repaired. Somebody has to go in and delete the junk (and ban the user).

(No, it wasn't me. I've pointed out flaws in the point system before, but this one just isn't interesting to me.)

Looks like The Great Khali

has opted out of the WWE to pose as a small time hacker. (7'2" 350 lb. behemoth from the Indian Punjab. He tossed around The Undertaker at his leisure). Welcome Khali! You have made your point!

Looks like...

... the loophole has been fixed, for now.

I noticed that my Power Points suddenly went down, so I checked this profile and verified that it did, as well.
