| With Luna. Parked at the gate even though it was open. Figured it was kinda sad to summit via vehicle. No views, rainy, lots of buildings up there. Some neat rainy, dewy spider webs though. Summit #1 of Father's Day. | ||

| Drove almost to summit, looked like the gate had been shot open with a firearm. This was the 2nd of three P2K's my brother and I did this day with Roman Nose being next. Was able to see Rainier, it was around 200 miles away. | ||

| An open gate and modest amounts of snow meant that we were able to drive more or less to the top of this mtn. Which is a good thing because the wind was blowing rain horizontally over the summit ridge. | ||

| Parked near the gate even though it was open. Walked my bike up the first half mile or so, then it leveled out some and was able to ride the rest of the way to the east summit. After finding the high spot, rode over to the west summit. Found the highest spot there as well. According to my GPS, the west summit is 3460 feet while the east is only 3425 feet. The highspot on the west was just east of the platform, the platform being at 3455 feet. Nice views over to Grass Mt. and Marys Peak, and you can even see The Sisters from the road up. 20 minutes to the first high spot, 10 minutes over to the second one. 8 minutes to the car from there. | ||

| Dundeel | Prairie Snowshoe ![]() Date Climbed: Mar 22, 2008 | |
| I was stopped by snow on the road about a mile before Gunsight Pass, so I decided to snowshoe up the "5J" line on the north side. 5J is a buried cableway and is maintained for minimal service access. The summit was deep in snow but visibility was unlimitted and the sun was shining brightly. | ||

| With my 8 year old grandson, and son in law, this was the first of two Oregon prominence peaks we wanted on this day. The other was Grass mountain to the north. We found an open gate so we drove most of what we needed to hike but still had time to stretch our legs. We saved most of our energy for the six mile hike upcoming on Grass Mtn. One note is that my daughter was in a Portland hospital after undergoing surgery for a cancer and she had suggested to me that I should get her husband and son "out" of there and take them for a hike which is what led us to do both Prairie and Grass Mtn's on the same day. We didn't expect the gate to be open on Prairie but since it was, that allowed us to also do Grass Mtn, a six mile hike a bit later in the day. | ||
