I climbed up the Preston Valley Trail (Green Canyon) with my wife. For mid-May the lack of snow was really abnormal. It has been a really low snow year. We didn't see another person the entire hike. Nice views all along the ridge to the peak.
I hiked up the Preston Valley Trail from Green Canyon. It was dusk when I started and I ended up doing a fair portion of the hike with a headlamp. It was dark when I reached the ridge line and after spending awhile enjoying the silence, I headed back down. The trail is well traveled, so finding my way wasn't difficult.
