| Hunting season is on and I wore my orange vest. Stopped to talk to an archer hunting bear. He wasn't sure why I was headed to Pt 5139 and wanted to make sure I didn't mean to go to Diamond Peak. With a late start and a side trip to Pt 6360+, I didn't get back to the truck until just before dark. Headed to Saddle Butte for a drive up in the dark. | |

| This is was my third of four CoGPPs done on the same day, and by far my favorite. It took me slightly over 5h30m roundtrip, hiking at a brisk pace with few stops. It's not often in Washington to find a peak where you actually have to drop 2000' in elevation to reach it. Impressive! I saw several bull elk on nearby slopes along the trek, and they were heard calling potential cow-mates. The views from the summit are spectacular. | |
