I completed the climb in January. It took a couple hours to hike up rock canyon to the road. The hike to the top from the road took 5 hours. Just pick a ridge and get ready to stairstep for a good long while. All that was needed was a mountaineering ax and snowshoes. Descent back to the road was ~2 hours.

On a map I was looking at it shows that Provo Peak is one of the many peaks on Corral Mountain. Shingle Mill is another of the peaks. Just thought that was worth mentioning.

Note the following page http://www.summitpost.org/area/range/171211/wasatch-range-south.html mentions Corral Mountain, stating that it is part of Provo Peak (but I think it is vice versa).

How do you define a "mountain." Corral Mountain is the massif between Rock Canyon and Hobble Creek, but Provo Peak asserts itself 500 feet above the ridgeline (and then you have Lightning, etc. to the north). I like to think the Corral Mountain is the jumble of peaks and ridges to the south of Provo Peak, and since I climb it about ten times every winter from every approach, that had kind of grown on me. But, it is what it is.

That is a good answer for this mystery question. Provo Peak is the highest mountain on the ridge and Corral Mountain is located to the south. I’m not very nitpicky about these things. Whether it is a peak, mountain, or series of peaks on a mountain ridge, it is not very important. I just like climbing them.

As of last week the campground's name is Rock Canyon, not Rock Creek. I will add a photo to the image gallery to illustrate. I took this picture less than 50' from the Provo Canyon turnoff on to the Squaw Peak Road. Just past the archery range the Squaw Peak road was gated; only ATVs could drive past the gate.

Thanks for the update, I've made the changes... I'm not able to climb as much as I used to, would you be interested in taking this page as you are probably far more familiar with this area nowadays than I?

Hey, MrWasatch. I think you and I have collaborated before. I would be happy to do so on PP--maybe as a co-contributor. Hate for you to just relinquish it. Thoughts?

Hey, sorry I'm only about 4.5 years late seeing this - but yes, I'd be happy to give you rights to any peak you want to contribute or update, I don't have the time to properly care for these.
