Pumpelly Pillar east face

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Pumpelly Pillar east face
The east face of Pumpelly Pillar (7,620 feet) from the Dawson Pass Trail. The "pillar" is actually an aréte with the true summit sitting back on a very serrated ridge from what is seen in this view. A class 4 route leads to the summit from the south.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."   --Calvin Coolidge
