Hi,

this looks like a karst lake, do you have more informations about it?

Re: Hi,

I'm not an expert on karstification and whether this lake qualifies. This North Cascades National Park link says the lake was formed by an ancient landslide.

Perspectively, the way the trail comes up to the lake, one gets the sense that it resides in a hole. There is an outlet though. The above picture was not taken from the trail but from a rocky overlook on the east or northeast side after a short, loose scramble.

Water

It is a pretty lake. It's also worth mentioning that this is the last drop of water you'll see for a while. There isn't much until the elk wallows once you pop out low on the ridge.
